Question CK SteelSet in Scream?

I have a CK SteelSet lying around, and I'm trying to decide if I should put it in my Scream or sell it.

Right now I am running a Pig headset.

I'll only put it in if it won't screw something up. (i.e. damage the frame, get stuck in forever, etc.) I've heard lots of bad stories.

If you get your headtube reamed by a competent shop and hav ethem install your headset there is no problem whatsoever.

Wait for the pig to be trashed though, no reason to swap a perfectly good part!

whats a matta with teh FSA...?

that cromo lower cup will live forever man.....i dont think u should bother unless your FSA is dead...

one thing to consider is if u do put the steeelset into your Banshee u may not be able to run a reg headset afterwards if you decide to sell teh frame....i should imagine a reg headset would be a looser fit after a frame has had a steeleset in it...

Steelsets are used to prevent ovalization.

You ride a Banshee Scream.

It's not needed, sell it.

Ill trade ya for something you need lol. You will most likely never get a steelset out of a frame. Might as well not try. If you really need any parts I got a ton to trade. I need a steelset pretty bad

What do you have to trade? The only thing I really need is a better rear 24" tire and a better dh saddle. I'll sell the steelset for a good price if you want it.

PM me and make an offer. It is in new condition since it was only used for a couple of months. I'll let it go fairly cheap though.

You CAN use it without reaming the head tube, but it would be pointless. Our head tubes are the size of beer cans..

The CK Steel is longer then the contact suface on the inside of the scream head tube. The advantages of the CK Steel would be lost inserting it into the kegger headset on the scream. Stay with the pig, you should sell the CK HS or keep it as you will never get your money back.

The contact surface on the Scream goes in far enough. I checked when I pulled my frame out of the box. There's probably 30mm or so.
