High Rise Bars
I'm tall (6-5) and find my stock 1" rise bars have me bent over my bike more than I'd like - I often sit down when I can and I think it's because my back gets tired being bent over. I've been considering on my next bike to get a 2" rise bar (i.e. Truvativ Holzfeller) or even going to more of a BMX-style 3" steel riser (I was looking at the .243 racing model).
Other than lack of climbing ability (ha ha) and looking like I'm riding a hog when sitting down ( ), would there be any drawbacks to going with higher bars? I'm thinking it could only help.ANy other brand suggestions? |

I like the Answer Pro Tapers myself. Nice agressive 2" rise and a nice feeling sweep. I love them.

Pro-Tapers are where it's at. Gold too
![]() High Rise bars are shit for climbing depending on the bike. XC bikes like flat bars to keep your weight foward to keep the front end down in the hills.

Good deal - but 4" might be getting too extreme.

I have a DMR wingbar on my HT, and it's sweet.
If you want chopper, check out my bike (the pic's pretty old, crappy, and out of date, but you'll get the idea,) http://www.pinkbike.com/modules/phot...ew&image=70529 Jesse James, WCC has nothing on ME! |

I think Easton makes a 2.5" rise bar. Probably the best bar out of the conventional style (sans cross bar).
