I ended up paying just over 600 CAN with shipping fo mine (2003 D2 Comp in Blue Flame). WELL WORTH IT. It fits so well, looks great and Troy Lee are really good about crash replacement.

The D2 crash replacement still costs more than a new MadMax.
They certainly look nice, and if I had the income to be able to brush of $600 for a product that looks a little better than one that costs $200 but does the exact same job, I'd get one. $600 for a mtb helmet is just ridiculous. Someone is getting rich off of these things, 'cause there is no way in hell they are worth that kind of money. But, if you can afford it, they do look pimp. I think On-Top is a great place to look into one. |

I smashed my visor and chipped a bunch of the paint on the helmet. will troy lee repalce it? I got my torch red non-carbon one for just over 400$ at oak bay bikes in victoria.

Replacement one s are $25 US...and Mulletron, if the fit of the helmet is better (which it is), the helmet will protect better. Personally, being able to walk and talkis well worth $600 to me.....Don't know bout you.

Gotta love the TLD carbon. I've never seen a nicer helmet.
I just got a Giro Mad Max2. Fits me perfectly and does the job for about $500 less than a TLD. |

It all depends on your perspective.
$600 equals one tooth, unless you have a good dental plan. ![]() Unfortunately, all helmets fit differently, and the TLD does NOT feel good on my melon. And I *REALLY* wanted to buy one, too. So far, the Giro MM2 is the best bet for me - likely going to be my next helmet. |

my 200$cdn Vigor VamooseII carbon does the same job, fits great and looks pimp just like a TroyLee...
but doesnt require such a assraping to purchase... the Troy Lee helmet is yet another MTN bike product that costs way more then it needs to.. and only for the simple reason is people will pay it..... just like Chris King/Thomson and various other hi-zoot items....they are like the BMW/Lexus/Mercedes of bike parts....
