trail bike

right now i have a 03 stuff w/ dj3. i love it, but im moving to the city and theres only trails and small jumps there. so im going to sell the kona and get a "all mountain" or "trail" bike. im looking at somethin like an enduro comp.

do you guys think that would be ok for a few small jumps and mostly trails? and whats the price like?

im open to all suggestions, just keep them under $1500

Keep your stuff and just make it more of a MTN style set up with maybe a smaller profile saddle, longer stem, longer seat post. Maybe some clipless pedals. Spruce up the drivetrain with a better deraileur. Keep the Kona, its an excellent "transferable" trail bike. IMO of course.

i agree with ross.
the kona isn't really a "freeride" bike per say,it's pretty versatile.
i'd just keep that and get a smaller seat, longer stem and maybe a triple ring if you feel the need be..personally i never used the big ring when i had it back in the day(3 years with only a 32 t ring..never going back to 3 chainrings).

keep the kona.for the money you'll get for it,you're not going to get much in terms of a new bike.

nah its too small for any trail biking. its a medium, but its like a 13-14" seat tube

all you need is a longer seat post ..

most of those trail bikes wont stand up to dirt jumping

and a longer stem

seriously
try it out first to save some money ..

get a small Dakar XLT...it's a reasonably strong, adjustable travel bike that's be sweet to build...just curious mate, why are you going away from a ht, sounds like a Ht would be the best for what you're looking to do, hell a ht is best for everything but racing IMO...
