More bad news.

Today at a intersection around JohnHenry a biker went down hard. This is the intersection of Brooksbank, not on the side of Main on the other side, where the huge hill comes down. He was traveling down this hill at a fast speed, and he crossed the intersection as he did so a lady pulled out of brooksbank to right turn. The rider went right into the side of a car at about 40-50km/h.

From what I saw, he was not in good condition, large blood loss and a heavy hit. There still is a huge blood patch at that interstection. I do not know who this is, but I wish him the best of the best. 15 seconds before the accident he waved to us, as a fellow biker would. And once again, I wish him the best.

Here in the Cove, about 4 weeks a kid named Keegan went no helmet down the steepest longest hill in the cove, it comes to a t intersection and you can not see any where along that road untill your like 5 feet from it, because of really really tall hedges, i bet he was going 40 km/h, he screamed down it and hit the side of a moving bus. He lost a lot of blood and broke almost every bone in his chest, shoulder, and arm area. He got out of the hospital 2 weeks later. He is mangled tho, but he will recover. I saw him a few days ago in the cove. He doesnt look bad and its talking fine. I think he learned what stop signs are for though. Hopefully this person will be able to recover.

That's just awful. I hate to hear stories like that. I ride that hill all the time, always with a bit of fear of that same thing. Car drivers just don't see us! Healing vibes to that poor cyclist.

You know what pisses me off the most about that? Is that the fucking driver pulled out past the god damn white line. YOUR NOT SOPPOSED TO DO THAT. YOU STOP, YOU LOOK LEFT, YOU LOOK RIGHT, and if you cant see anything, you CREEP forward not skip the first freakin part. YOU DONT JUST FLY OUT 10 FEET PAST THE LINE, WHY DO U THINK THE LINES THERE?! GAH!! I've had so many close calls with morons going over the line...it happense to much.

thats harsh to hear. i think people forget roadies are way more 1 on 1 with cars than we are. at least on the shore you dont have to worry about a car door opening or a semi truck sideswiping you at 60km/h.

i wish him all the best. actually, both. the one ross mentioned and the roadie. luckily i didnt have to see that happen. even though id been past brooksbank a few times today. really harsh to hear.

if the lady pulled out past the line why should it be the roadies fault? he has the right of way and she obviously did not shoulder check well enough. but whatever. neither the time or place to debate that

Cam its a t intersection

she had the right away becauase it was green for her.

oh, was it green for her?

if he was coming west down the big road (keith??) and the lady turned right on a red light cut him off then it would be his fault. if she had a green light though then i guess the biker ran the light so i guess it isnt much of her fault if that's so.
