foxr vs fox rc
hey guys , i got my fox r working fine on my bighit and i was wondering, is there a huge differance between the fox r and fox rc. I know that the fox rc is nitro charged and every thing, but is it really that big of an upgrade, especially since i am low on money. I think that i am going to stay withthe fox r, but what is your ipinion.

totaly different ride, i had a R on my stinky and then a RC on my a-line. Having control over compression is such a good advantage and it maks such a sweet swooshing noise when the shock reloads.

i say not much. when i had an rc, i ran the compression wide open as to reduce my chances of blowing the shock. the rc does have a more supple ride because of the larger volume in the resevoir, but all in all, if you already have a vanilla r, i dont think it is worth it to upgrade to an rc unless you can get a great deal on it. both shocks are nitrogen charged. like i said, the ride is more responsive on the rc due to the increased volume

very different ride.. the rc has way better compression. i found it ramped up much better on my s8 than an r.. resists bottoming much better
also better at high speeds, tends to not blow through travel like an r does

I never noticed much of a difference, but the RC wasn't really dialed into my weight and riding style that well.
I'd say don't bother with an upgrade until you can afford to make it count and get a next generation shock like Manitou, 5th, avy, or Romic.
