ovalized shock mount

despite keeping the mounting bolt tight (as I do the rest of my bike) - I've now got a slight ovalization where my shock mounts to the frame. It's not bad now - but now that it's loose, I can only see it going downhill (har har).

Anyone had a similar experience? If so, did you try and get a replacement and what was the answer. I'm thinking I'm probably SOL as they'll just say I didn't keep my bolts tight. (it's a Norco)

Oh yeah - it's not the DU bushings - I replaced both already.

maybe drill out the frame holes and runa slightly larger bolt???

this route would be a hassle thou cuz then u'd have to ream out your shock reducers aswell....

but if you dont wanna hassle iwth warrenty or u cant then its better then allowngi your frame to get worse and worse till it cracks...

good luck....

I would just wrap the bolt in some electrical tape, or teflon tape maybe? till it fits snugly and theres no play

ifo has the right idea. redrill your bolt holes to 8mm and get 8mm bushings for your shock.

You could also shim the holes up with some tin (pop can...the fix all for RM-6 owners)
