Question Less travel front - more travel back

Any drawbacks to having more travel rear than front?

I'm thinking of a 2003 Norco Team Shore frame (8 inch rear max) with a 2002 Monster T (7 inch) because I already have an 02 Monster and like it.

I could actually use the "VPS" and put the frame in 7 inch mode but that kinda defeats the purpose.

No drawbacks at all unless you are really picky. You can always change the setting in the back to match the front.

Geometery maybe?

I should check out the length of the 03 Monster that Norco specs it with, but from what I've seen, the extra length is below the axle on the 03 Monster.

Sounds like you've got a mullet of a problem on your hands. Business in the front and party in the back.

Don't the Superheros run sc forks on their bullets? Probably not ideal for dh, but fun for regular riding/jumping.

I can't think of a single DH bike that has any other kind of configuration. Look at the standard DH forks, Boxxer, Dorado, both 7". Shiver, 8".

Most dedicated DH bikes have at least 8" in the rear. It rules, don't be scared.
