Dans has a history of pirated parts. They used to sell the BMX company TerribleOne. But they made some counterfeit shirts and T-1 dropped them like a bag of shit.
I did all my BMX building through Dans because I got free shipping and a small discount from a guy that worked there (now runs and owns www.suicidedoors.com)

Funny thing you mention that....The flat's on Dans have ONLY a slight resemblance to the burgers up on Goride.com. Hmmmm...

i think there have been two shinburger models. one was cnc machined in there shop and really expensive, then they realised that they could get basically the same quality, make more, and sell them for less if they had them made in taiwan, so a second cheaper model came out.
i am not sure about any of this. |

Call them if you want a 100% answer. Or E-Mail them and see if Dans is legit.

are there any advantages to not having pins? i would think that once they wear down you're outta luck...?

Not if they are replaceable. Also the downside to the shin burgers is that the bearings spin SLOOOOOOW, and if you get mud in them you get no traction at all. They are pretty heavy but not as bad as you would think. If you do a lot of no footers and stuff than it would be a plus to have slow bearings.

my friend had a pair of these "shinburgers" directly from BMW and they were a bust... the pattern is so wide. and block's dont really grip well if u have a stiff bottom shoe.. need a real soft shoe to have these things feel good they cost him 260$ can

Monster Mike...."a few pair"? Are you saying that these pedals are prone to destruction? I figuered that by dishing out 200+CAN on a pair of pedals, they would surely outlast me. What's your take on them? Are they worth the money? How's the grip?
Thx |

No. Im saying ive tried a few pair on a few diff peoples bikes. They did not seem that grippy to me. I wouldnt get BMWs. THe best high end pedals from wht ive seen are profile gass pedals. strong grippy ect.
