Garage Bike Hangers - wide tires?
I have created a spot in my garage to put 2 or 3 MTB's. I want them to go vertical up the wall, ie just hang the front wheel on the wall off a hook/device.
I have 2.35's on both my current bikes, the one at MEC says it has issue with larger MTB tires. Anyone here use garage bike hangers? Care to provide some much needed feedback? Thanks! |

![]() ![]() Bought these at my LBS for around the same price. Plastic/rubber cover for the hook section slid off too easily when removing the wheel from the hook. (Note the original covers in the second photo) Replaced it with hockey tape and it works fine. Fits most size tires, 2.4 Conti's are a bit harder to slide in but any Maxxis 2.35 and under (and even 2.5 Minion) slides in really well. Last edited by King of Fasia; 07-09-2012 at 06:26 AM. |

I have the ones from MEC. The metal's pretty soft, so I bent the hook away from the wall until it fit my tires. 2.35's also on wide rims.

The ones at Rona cost less than 4 dollars and hold up to 40lbs completely horizontal. I keep mine angled. Too bad I don't have a more recent picture; I've recently added a hook lower down for my sons run bike.

Scotter you have to get a picture with a scoot bike beside it... i'll put my son's 16" marin in my pic! |

I have the same set-up as Lady Gravity but ceiling mounted. Finding rounded hooks works out better than squarer.
