I sure would have like to have seen the treed section - it seems like that was the section that separated the riders.

I thought I heard them say that they did have a camera there but were having problems. I may have heard incorrectly though, with that "bri-ish" accent!

I wish Dirt/WC coverage was still on... they did that best - as far as camera placement goes.

Can someone please explain how Danny Hart is the world champ for winning one race? I get it was the world championship race but how does that mentality work?

So Gwin should have slacked the whole season and given it his all that one race and he would have been the world champ then? What's the point of these racers trying to win these races when the one that gets all the credit is the world championship?

world champs is a one day event, for all disciplines. There's an overall for the series on the year, and a one day world champs. Why does it matter? Everyone knows what the score is, Gwin was the World Cup series winner, and there's a lot to be said for that, just like there is for putting it together for the big one day race.

It's not much different than any other sport, except that in cycling the reigning world champ gets to wear a rainbow jersey. It's the same with XC, BMX, road, track, etc.

There is a world champ in DH skiing as well as a world cup champ - same system - as in many other sports. Cycling's rainbow jersey does give more emphasis to the reigning world champ than in other sports, though, no doubt about it.

Looks like the treed section could've been where the race was won or lost.
