Unionizing the RCMP would be the worst possible thing that could ever happen to the people of Canada.

The RCMP seems to be out of control of late, too many officers committing crimes and getting off.

The force, and fellow officers, are covering up for them and when they do get called out they are suspended with pay, pending investigations, and all of the process.

Or they get transferred and they all pretend it didn't happen.

A union would make the process even worse by setting in place a "grievance" procedure that would make it impossible to get rid of bad members. Imagine therapy teachers are protected and put that on RCMP. Do we want to know that the RCMP officer who stopped your car is a murderer, or rapist, who got off because the union saved him?

No union or unionized worker that I know is as protected as the RCMP give me one...

My point is that they'r already unionized... what's the difference? They have it better then most unions or anyone for that matter.
