Sumas Mountain

Did a little ride on the New Squid line. Awesome work!

I want to show Lee and also ride Holiday Sauce/Extra Sauce and Emma Peel.

Can anyone from the Fraser Valley join us?

We'll have a truck and can shuttle, or pedal up.

We hope to be there 10 ish.

Just wanna echo your sentiments about squid line. Fantastic trail.

For anybody wondering where it is, have a look here:

It's the green beauty on the right.

Squid Line!

We rode up and did squid line, then rode back up and did Holiday Sauce, Extra Sauce and Emma Peel. While those trails are good ol' fun old school. Squid line is very unique!

Awesome work guys!

Squidline is amazing. Neverending mad flow FTW!

BTW if you want to learn how to pump or you rock at it already. Ride this trail and work it. Insane.

Where's the best place to park and what's the best route to pedal up?

Big respect to Ewan Fafard, the builder of Squid Line. He built it non stop over the winter, hauling tools and materials through the snow on a sled. Pretty amazing work.

Best place to park is in the new parking lot. Approx 200m up the road from the bottom yellow gate. The best route up is the only one...the road.

Is Squid line bi-directional, or is it a descent only?

So that's around the intersection of Batt Rd and Taggart Rd?

Follow Batt Rd to Taggart Rd. Taggart Rd is the FSR that goes near to the top of Sumas Mtn, cut off by the upper gate that is always closed. The TH to Squidline is off of Holiday Sauce, which is below the upper gate at a major switchback (just below the lock-blocks). If you buy the FVMBA Sumas Map at a local bike store, you'll have all of the goods!

I believe the intent was to have it as a bidirectional trail. It would definitely be a good climb.

It is a bi-directional trail. I wouldn't climb it during peak hours though.
