I have been using one on my Rune for the past month, working great so far no dropping of my chain anymore and I don't really hear it so I forget it is even there. Super easy to put on as well.

It works,
I've had mine on for a few rides now, you don't notice it at all. My Remedy would frequently drop the chain if I was using the small ring. No drops since I put it on.

I don't like the drag (perception of drag?) from a chain device and I don't like the dirty-cable-feel of up-shifts with Shadow Plus. For now I'm sticking with a standard XTR derailleur in the high-tension setting. - These guides are very clean looking, and they will fit on lots of "XC-AM" frames (Giant, Intense Carbine, new Specialized) that a Stinger won't work with. -D

yeah, sure.. stinger is half the price but if your frame runs bb30.. you can't use any of those chain guides. Solution? this guide.

I run mine a bit soft on my Tallboy because the chain doesn't clank around much on a short travel XC bike and I run it pretty firm on my SB66 because I ride that bike much harder. One thing that the S+ derailleur does better than any sort of guide is prevent chainsuck. Chainsuck doesn't happen all that often but it is inevitable with our gritty winter rides. The S+ can save a carbon frame from some serious damage. |
