Saw a 26er hardtail being ridden by a super attractive male recently. Later realized it was actually me and I had been looking into a large highly-reflective puddle.

I was trail building with a couple of guys in the UK 10 years or so ago. We got totally lost on the way back to the cars as we hadn't cut the trail out to the connector trail yet (we thought it was really close by). It was almost dark and we could hear the cars probably on the road we drove in on but we kept ending up next to this high fence surrounding this large garden with a nice house in the grounds. Anyway after we'd gone right around the house and walked up the long gravel driveway we ended up on a road we had never seen before but it looked like it went on forever so we forgot that. We were starting to get really pissed by this point so we decided to walk back around the fence pick up the trail and walk out the way we came in except we walk almost right around the fence, miss the trail and end up at the forestry rangers work shed. His Landrover is outside with the headlights on but nobody is around which we thought was a bit odd. So we're talking about what to do when someone shouts "HELLO, HELP ME" from the shed and right after that we hear a really loud crash or bang from the shed. I'm shitting it by this point but dave thinks it's nothing or the ranger has had an accident so me and a mate stand there while dave goes over to the shed he's about five feet away when another loud crash comes from the shed! Dave turns around to look at us and we've ready to run by this point but he carries on and opens the door gets on the floor, everybody walk the dinosaur!

1} I'm last rider in a six person man-train hitting the open area of Crabapple Hits (I think) when a small bear cub runs across the trail in front of me, closely followed by what I presume is a very hungry coyote. Didn't want to hang around there in case a pissed-off mother bear was about to arrive on the scene
2} Many years ago, riding the Kokopelli trail near Moab, something ran across the trail maybe 50 meters in front of me and a couple of other riders. It was bear-sized but no one else saw it (or believed me!) and I start to think I'm hallucinating due to the heat. We slowly proceeded up the trail and saw one (!) fresh paw print in the dirt. Weird...I'm vindicated but why only one paw print??? |
