Last-minute weekend getaway within 3-hours of Van?
The lady and I are looking to do the relaxing get-away thing for a few days this weekend. Preferably within a 3-hour trip from Vancouver. Budget ~$1000.

Recommendations?

Edit: Should mention that if going to the island, have to go through Victoria to drop the spawn off with grandma.

Gulf Islands can be pretty relaxing as well if you get nice weather.

Any particular places you've had good experiences?

Tofino would rule, but yeah, a little far to go with the ferry trip to Vic and then the drive from there.

Ruby Lake Resort is pretty nice (disclaimer, haven't been there in a while). Of course it is nicer if the weather is good, but I think they have massage and the Italian food is good at the restaurant.

I second Harrison Hot Springs in the off-season if you just want to chill our somewhere quiet and yet scenic.
