where to buy porcupine wire?
pesky raccoon keeps trying to break through the roof, probably to nest.

SPCA we're no help, animal control said use porcupine wire. where does one buy this?

Check with the local pest control companies.

For example:

Metal mesh might work too. People use chicken wire mesh around their vehicles when they park them in areas with porcupines.

They like to eat rubber for the salt, which sucks as it is nice to have tires and brake lines to drive back out of the bush.

Edit: Porcupines also like to eat plywood for the salt in the glue.

I was told they eat the hoses as they're made with a soy byproduct.

I think its called "porcupine wire" because of the way it looks ... not because it keeps porcupines away. In fact, I would wager that if you wrapped that stuff around something, you'll find bunch of horny male porcupines trying to mount it, in the grand tradition of Monsieur Pepe Le Pew.
