What mythical figure of authority are you referring to? Do you actually believe a failed cop wannabe who is captain of his own make-believe neighbourhood watch is "an authority"? Or are you just implying that a gun makes a person "an authority"?

If he was a "real" neighbourhood watch rep, then he would know that the policy is to observe and report to real authorities, you know, people with actual badges and not to go around stalking anyone. Buddy though he was better than he is.

Figure of Authority? If some dude tried to pull a citizens arrest on me b/c I was walking home from highschool - I'd keep walking (fuuuuck that) and tell him to suck my nuts. He can follow me to my house and then relay that location to the poleece.

Now, the real figure of authority is the Gun in this case. Thats the only thing Zimmerman had going for him in the way of Authority. Because really, just b/c he's a nieghborhood block captain, doesnt mean he's my neighborhood Captain or even from my 'hood. Dont talk to strangers right? Shiiiiiiiet.

He was the "neighbourhood block captain" in the sense that Jimbo Jones is the Springfield Elementary wallet inspector. See official statement from the National Sheriff Association's Neighborhood Watch Program website

Apparently, the police were familiar with Zimmmerman. He called them on many, many occasions to this report:

"Over the years, his (Zimmerman's) scores of calls to police showed he pursued shoplifters and errant drivers with zeal, reporting pit bulls, potholes, children playing in the street, open garage doors and “suspicious” youths — usually black males — loitering in the street."

Mounting evidence begs to differ.

Begging the question is a logical fallacy that you've called incorrectly.

911 was called. Though the specific details are not yet known, they should be found through a court of law - not a quick investigation in the street that includes alleged witness collusion and no formal interrogations of the admitted shooter. I don't know about you, but I'd find it pretty hard to leave the area if I had a bullet in me....

Assaulting anyone carries the risk of injury, had he not attacked zimmerman then its extremely likely he would be alive.

When someone can explain zimmermans injuries i'll be happy to listen, until then in my mind it will be a case of self defense.

Although the US has a high crime rate generally speaking we don't allow people to gun down others in cold blood and get away with it.

Here's a tidbit from that rabid right wing news agency NPR citing what could be a decent reason for suspicion, I don't know about you but when I was 17 if i had ladies jewelry on me I had a purpose for it, and god forbid someone took it from me if all i had to do was explain where it came from to get it back I think I would.

If Zimmerman had listened to the 911 operator and NOT followed the kid, it's extremely likely the kid would be alive. How's that for ya?
