Vancouver Votes (all of BC too, merged)

This November 19th, Vancouver will vote. I don't want to push any political beliefs on anyone but I hope all eligible voters will get out and ensure their voice is heard. So PLEASE, get out and VOTE! As we have seen in the past few years, civic elections matter. As cyclists we have a lot to gain and a lot to lose, So whoever you are voting for.. just go do it!

(& remember what candidates are bike friendly! #juiceman)

At least he's bike friendly. The NPA certainly isn't. One of their candidates is talking about removing the separate bike lanes downtown during the winter. The time when they are the most important.

Well, its either Gregor or Suzanne. All others are no-chance lame ducks or bumbling idiots.

Yep I have every intention of voting for someone who overlooked something as basic as getting clearance for a photograph using young children. Sounds like she's a charging rhinoceros of poorly executed good ideas. I Wonder what other t's she forgot to cross?

please dont vote for Anton. She's very difficult to deal with IMO and as a councillor she has always only cared about issues concerning the westside.

You are correct, I should and have very little idea what the deal is with the candidates in Burnaby.

people are not so enthused about the old guy Taylor is running against, if enough people get out & vote it could happen,it is the new guy vs the old boys so we are hoping to get out the young vote

I drove around put up 50+ signs I also made a whole bunch of buttons & gave them out/helped bro canvass the Halloween bar/band night at the pub, canvassing drunk people is way more fun than knocking on doors

If you are a bike commuter (or just care about your city being bike friendly), the VACC sent out cycling related questionaires to people running in Metro Van. You can read the responses for your area at this link:

Edit: I know the Burnaby VACC also sent out the questionaire and has been emailing the responses to their mailing list, not sure why they aren't on the web site.
