I have a Fluid LT and am really intereted in the new Norco's especially the Range but that head tube-top tube-down tube junction makes me nervous. I'm sure lots of testing has been done but it looks sketchy to me. I would hate to buy a first generation Range and have the frame crack on me. Is that really a good idea? I can't off the top of my head think of any other all mountain, freeride bikes with a junction like that.

so is the sight a 29er? or is that just perspective on the camera?

edit: n/m, found this photo. http://www.flickr.com/photos/norcobikes/5620918210/

I'll wait for the geo, but I like the look of the stealth machine.

Hey, if you put those wheels on your trail bike you could "Easily get more than a season of riding" out of them. Haha, those are clearly for race day only, no matter what your budget. Nice to see that they launched them on the new Ibis SL-R. North American wheels launched on a North American bike.

The Sight is mean't to be a little brother to the Range line, on the light side of all mountain. Its a 26 inch.

Makes zero sense IMO. Even if it doesn't fail there is no way it could possibly be as stiff as the same design with toptube/downtube weld overlap.

Dear Norco,

The new bikes look good, but you should fire the guy that named them.

Sincerely,
me

Yikes, $2600 bones. I'll stick with my Crossmax SLRs, thank you very much.

My large LT doesn't have an overlap, and a lot of other large size frames are the same. It's true, they probably aren't as stiff, but I can bet that it's still stiffer than fork-wheel flex, crown flex, crank flex and all the other flexes on the bike. If you can notice a difference, then you are either imagining it, or your are a highly calibrated piece of measuring equipment.
