I bought a gym membership to golds gym and I've never gone.

I took over someone else's plan and never went to the gym. Signed the papers but have never gone and got a call today saying that because I signed i need to pay, blah blah blah.

Is this going to screw over my credit? should I be worried?

Is it to the one in langley?? What is your monthly rate? I am getting a membership there, I could probably take yours over. Ill ask my friend who works there. He has done it before for another friend.

Here's my experience....

Many moons ago, I signed up for pay as you go at Fitness World. I did a few months and stopped. About 2 years later, I applied for a vehicle loan and was told there was a significant amount of owed money against my credit. After some investigation I found it was for Fitness world. Due to my transient lifestyle at the time, they were unable to track me but for that whole time, they had kept charging me a monthly fee, against my name not an account. I had signed a paper when I started but was told it was for records and insurance rather than any sort of contract and when I stopped going. Foolishly, I signed without reading and I wound up owing about $1500 with all overdue and credit fee's. After losing my mind and much foot stomping, I had to pay about $800 to have it cleared. Gym's are ruthless and as mentioned above if it was not for this, they would never survive.
So, my guess is....if you have signed anything, you are on the hook.

It's cheaper then the walk in the door rate I believe it's 40 a month? And normal price is 55 or something?

which reminds me. If you get sent to a collections, how can you find out which agency has it?

Don't do anything, they'll call you. Over, and over, and over, and over, and over.

In all seriousness though, you should be able to call whoever is sending you to collections and ask them which agency they've forwarded your account to and get a reference number.

Usually the only clause they have to get out of it is if you move far away, so you could do that, or maybe fake your own death.

And yet they still screw you by having "partner" gyms even in places where there is no fitness world, or whatever gym you are with.

It's tough to get out of those contracts.

Yeah $55 is regular rate. I will take yours over if you want. You wlll still have to pay the back payements though unfortunatley. No way out of that.

No spacers yet, I won't be to work this week (death in the family) but I will throw jordan a text and see what he says. Probably not until the new year though.

I ran into the same problem as the op. Not with a gym though. Kwantlen when I registered and had no money at the time, but thinking I'd get dropped out automatically.
