Chub Front Hubs?

Anyone have any experience with their front 20mm hub? I know they haven't been out for very long but has anyone seen any major issues with them yet?

Thinking about tossing one on the new build since the hubs are priced pretty decently.

Hey D,
You probably won't get too much of a response yet...the cassette CHUB is in the prototyping stage right now, and we expect to do more hub sets once that is done. The hub design is pretty solid, and of course the support afterward is top notch (heh).
http://perigeum.com/bythehive/wp-con..._paper_-_b.pdf

As far as the front hub goes, (as with most front hubs) there really isn't much that can go wrong.

Cheers,

Bonded 3 piece hub shells meet giant flanges!

No thanks.

Nuke proof and Siesmic hubs both went away for a reason.

I think it was the bonding between the enginerds and the bankers that failed in the two case above.

you know, from an industrial design perspective, there's a whole lot of real estate taken up by the hub body that i think could be better (read: more interestingly) utilized. i'm thinking you could use a clear plexiglass cylinder and put a goldfish in there. or perhaps sea monkeys. watching the life cycle of the tiny crustaceans spinning about in your front wheel would be fantastic.

You would have to have Nano sized divers to go in and clean up the vomit once they get dizzy though.

And here I was clicking the thread thinking there would be some useful information in here. Alas, it's NSMB and as per usual it's just useless banter!

Hub came in today, flanges are pretty massive, although smaller than I had first imagined. Overall looks really solid and I am pretty impressed with the finished product. Now all I have to do is decide on the rim, lace it up and wait on the frame to show up. Stoked to see how this thing works!

im gonna go out on a limb here and guess that it will function almost identically to any other front hub ever made

But you bought the hub anyways, I think you were just looking for support for your purchase.

I just think that could have bought a lighter, cheaper hub, that can never come unglued.

More fundamentally I don't like the design because, it doesn't provide the same accuracy of bearing alignment that a 1 piece machined shell does.

It wouldn't be impossible to do so however I highly doubt that chub machines the bearing seats in the flanges AFTER the pieces are glued together.
