Time to change gears from Fall to Winter

Wicked Fall. Got some wicked dirt for the last cpl months and especially this last wk. Maybe the best riding of the season. Bet whoever got Pemby this last wk got the goods. Friends went to SSC yesterday-am sure it was mint. Got a top to bottom local loamer yesterday as the cherry on top, with thanks to Big C! It was a good finisher for the Fall. Yesterday was stellar conditions complete with sunshine on a day they called for rain-where did everyone ride? Did you get some good Fall rides in?

Now the rains have begun...winter's wet grasp has arrived.

How do you change your game in the winter? Ride more AM, less DH? Stay off the skinnies? Change your tires? Put on neoprene undies? Duct tape your laces? Charge your Magicshines, it was lights on by 630 tonight.

Had my first real soaked in the skin ride (at least since mid-september at whistler) today. Plenty more to come I'm sure.

I'll probably be riding a lot more AM and be damn careful while on wood. Otherwise, business as usual.

Well... hammering slats at 615 thinking I best be leaving soon. Walked out for 20 mins with no lights.

How can we keep dry here in the winter? Its nearly impossible, you either get wet from the rain or from the sweat inside 'waterproof' gear.

Wet but warm is the key. I usually wear a microfleece on top, wool socks, etc.

I bust out the thicker merino socks, merino undershirt with quarter zip, and bring an extra set of gloves in a ziploc. when it's really gross or cold I'll bust out the pants.

Wear more wool,Stay off Green or shinny skinnies, Balance out the AM DH,Carry dry gloves, Have dry clothes at the end of the ride and all is good.
Nothin like a Pow morning on the snowboard and an AM loop in the aft.

I used to ride year round, now I prefer to put the bikes away and bring out the snow toys. Still its good to get out for a bike ride if the weather shows some opportunities.

November in Vancouver is the dreaded shoulder season we have all year. its a good time to dig trails
