Anyone switching? You'll be able to 3G it up on the AWS Nexus one and the N900.....

Think I will hold out for Shaw. Proven service in my books. Its nice talking to a person rather than a machine when you call a company. Best part is, like Wind, no contracts. I understand that meens I will pay more for a phone outright, but anyway I can not be teatherd to a shitty company like Telus is a good move in my books. (no offence to thoes who work at Telus, just my experiences)

Dammit - TELUS sucks so much right now - if I get one voicemail left I don't actually get it until a second is left. ie if you leave me a message on Tuesday and no one else leaves me a message until Friday, I won't get your message until then. Doesn't even matter if I try and check, the system will say I have no messages.

wish I could switch...hope they come to the Island soon...

They're starting service in Vancouver a full year earlier than they were originally slated to. I head whispers of Vancouver Island service in 2013, hopefully their momentum continues and we get service earlier!

I'd jump on Shaw as well if available, unfortunately they're keeping their cards close to their chest at the moment. No one know whether the cellular infrastructure they're building is for cell phones or just a rocket stick type mobile internet service. The best part is, if you switch to Wind a Shaw comes up with servicing the following year, there isn't any contract keeping you from switching!! Hopefully, at a minimum, this will mean that we'll see some price cuts at the Big Three....

Will I be able to use a Sim-carded phone on their network? Like the unlocked phone I'm using now, on Rogers?

Yes but it's more complicated than that, WIND uses AWS band phones for 3G, you need to make sure your phone supports the frequencies.

Telus already has their 'simed' network up and running. It was initially slated to fire up in January 2010, they opened early though in 2009 with the release of the iPhone. Not sure what they're 'unleashing'...

Could very well be the HTC Desire (or Triumph):



Essentially HTC's own version of the Nexus One (non Google branded). It's been rumoured for a while and a lot of folks have been waiting for it.

As a Nexus One owner I can tell you it will be a beautiful phone.

WIND will give you 150 dollars to switch your number over, until Sept 15. Also, data packages are also half price until then, good for a year.

The $150 is given as a 25 dollar rebate on your monthly bill, six times.
