Best not to risk it. I'll go ahead and suffer through the first weekend and let you all know.

Opening day (May 15) should have a good selection of trails off of the Fitz chair, including A line, B line, Crank it Up, and most of the double black single track. Still a fair bit of snow over towards EZ Does it and Dirt Merchant, probably nothing opening over there for opening day.

There is still a shitload of snow above the top of Fitz (still well over 3 metres of settled base mid mountain), so who knows when Garbo will go.

John Cowan is in town and has already started shaping the slopestyle and dual course with a D7 and a bobcat. Marty and Jay and the trail crew have been out buffing trails for a while already!

I'll try and get some pics next week while we are setting up.
If you are pedalling or pushing up to ride, use extreme caution as trail work could be in progress, and some trails have downed trees/snow patches/rickety wood work. Please be very aware of the trail crew guys.

Ride on!

16 out of 40 trails?(Fitz zone) Would've thought there'd be more..still, I can't wait to hit it up on Sunday!

16 trails is plenty for me and my Whistler-rookie friends to take in on Monday!

I remember a few years ago, WBP opened weekends only for the first few weeks of the season.

I was walking through the village one morning and I saw two downcast riders in full gear eating breakfast on a patio. I don't know how long they drove for, but it would have been very disappointing to find the chairlift not spinning.

Know before you go!

(I'm not saying it's only open for the weekend. But it'll pay to find out! I don't actually know and haven't looked into it at all.)

I didn't bother going last year, so I only have one question.

What trail is this on?

Well at least Joyride will be good to go. Now if only I had the marbles to ride it on the first day of the year...

The website says Fitz chair on weekends, Gondola on weekdays until June 19. So I assume that means open 7 days/week?
