Dakine Riding Apparel Sizing

Want to pick up a pair of shorts and a jersey or two.

How is the sizing on the shorts and jerseys, is it true to the sizing chart? Do they have one standard fit throughout, or is the stuff like Sombrio, and have different fits(which results in different sizing throughout?)

Who carries the clothes on the Shore?

Oh, I wear a Sombrio Pinner short in small

I have a couple of 3/4 sleeve jerseys from last year's collection and they are true to size although a little baggy to accomodate armor and keep air flowing.

I am also curious about the sizing of the shorts. From what I've read on the web, the shorts seem to fit a little tight. Since I usually wear size 34 shorts, I'm leaning towards the large (34-36) instead of the medium (32-34).

Not sure if you were trying to be funny or not, but Im either a small or a medium in the shorts. That sample sale is only large, plus I don't live in Van.

No didn't mean for it to come off that way? I just though you were
driving through Van soon or something. Yeah sample sale sizes suck especially the shoes... size 9!

OnTop had shorts last year, not sure about this year. I have a pair, want me to check the size? I'm a 32-34 inch waist, depending.

I don't know about shorts, but obsession carries the jerseys. I've got five or six dakine jerseys and like them a lot. the sizing actually make sense, unlike a number of other brands *cough*SOMBRIO*cough*, and i even like the way they look. i'm 5'8" and slim (32" waist) and wear mediums in the jerseys.

I'm also interested in the shorts, so if you find some, it'd be great if you posted your thoughts on them.

Thanks for your post. We are pretty much the same size so that takes care of the shirts

ed.
My roommate got a pair of the Dakine 8 Track shorts size large, (way too big for , could fit in there an extra time) he got them somewhere in North Van, no idea from where though. String around the outside of the waist on the shorts (not him)came to roughly 38".

Size small Sombrio Pinners while wearing them measured 33" along the shorts waist.

i also have a small waist and switched from sombrio to dakine as i got tired of riding with a baggy crotch area. the dakines fit great and i would say average sizing. got last years 8 track in Med with waist adjusters and recently picked up this years chorus in Small. My waist size is 32. Both Cove and Steed have these in stock. i also like the simple styling on the dakines over the new disco colors of sombrio.

And you're happy with the medium track 8s? They're not cinched to the max?

I fluctuate between a 32 and 34 waist depending on manufacturer and seasonal lardiness which varies between 168-175 lbs. The pair I have are a medium and the adjusters are about half way in and they fit and look great(IMHO). They have a stretch panel at the back that helps with the fit and have loops for a belt if needed.

Had them for a year now and they have held up well. The outer fabric seams to be fairly tough and water resistant. Stitching is intact, no fading or tears and they still look almost like new. I really like the leg vents, which combined with the mesh (wicking?) liner, does a good job of keeping the tackle cool.

Definitely a thumbs up for these shorts!

i agree, great shorts for sure. i also have the adjusters half way and the stretch panel is great too. the 2010 chorus has no adjuster and no stretch so went with the smalls and fit is great also

Update.

I ordered small shorts after trying on a few mediums that were too big. Also went with a medium shirts as they seem to be a decent size and scooters recommendation

It really depends on how short or where you want to use them or even how you look. I wouldn't like them on a heavy person but if you have the body to show them off them go for it. I really don't like guys with long shorts like those that look like they used to be pants but they grew out and now they have them just above the ankle.
