FINALLY! - Fox Talas 180mmm

Poached from MTBR's Norcal forum:

Bye-bye Totem/Lyric sales...
Looks like an 8" direct post mount, no adaptor needed.

Have been waiting a long time for Fox to build this.
Didn't hear about it and ordered something different, that will be in my grubby little mitts this weekend.

I dunno, something doesn't look right in those pictures but I just can't put my finger on it.

I'm going with internet myth on this.

^ What he said. Plus it doesn't look as beefy as the Totem so I'd pass anyway.

both of those have nicer ride/damping then my Float has ever had..

bye bye FOX for me...

I'm looking forward to a Van 38 with 180mm so I'm not as excited about this "spy" shot.

Yeah for some reason seeing 180mm travel with those "little" 36mm stanchions and a single crown scares me I feel more confident in my Totem's 40mm ones.

Good point.

I'll only be satiated by a 40mm single crown from fox.

Looking good. A 180mm 36mm chassis sounds mighty fine to me. Looks like the 2011 RC2 stuff does have the compression and rebound adjusters swapped, as per the rumour mill.

It's a real fork. Vids/threads on mtbr are being deleted...

Apparently release will be at Sea Otter, and this is a burlier 36 with a lighter trail 36 being offered as well.

I was hoping for a 38 or 40 as well... doesn't matter anyway to me anymore, as I picked up something else.

I'm sure 36 will be fine. I've been riding a 35mm 180mm single crown and it's been fine stiffness wise.

funny, everyone's been pining for this fork because of all the issues with Totems, but Fox wasn't quick enough to market (surely they could have done adequate testing in the 3-odd years it's taken for SRAM to sort their shit out,) and now everyone's picking up Totems anyway.
