Banshee - New Site Up

Check it out, some interesting stuff in the "About Us" section, under "The Bikes", they go through design process and reasons for using different designs for different applications.

Cool site and stories. I kind of suspected the Pyre MKII would get dropped when the Spitfire hit production, although different, overlapped in many ways

not a huge fan of having bikes with different backgrounds, and scale in the back. seems disoriented.

i love the fact that they list geo's for different forks. they sell these things as frame only, how much of a no brainer is that? hello, mc'cove!

I understand what you mean. I talked to Jay about it, he said that those were the pictures that he had to work with at this time. He will update that stuff when the new pictures are done. There is more content to be added and lots of editing (proof reading) to be done still as well.

Sounds like there will also be a video for each bike, with closeoup footage of the features on the frame and some riding footage to go along with it. It looks like it is already up for the Wildcard, Rune and Scythe, the others will go up as soon as the footage is edited.

The site works well enough for me and serves up the whole Banshee catalogue, which obviously is the point of the site, so thumbs up for that.

A few observations from flipping through the pages:

+ When I click on 'geometry' for a bike, I have to 'click to open geometry' again? that doesn't make much sense, imo.

+ There are two 'stills' options beside each frame and one 'motion' option but only some of them work. I want to click on that shit.

+ I find the little squares that are everywhere pretty distracting. As an example, the slider that allows you to scroll through each frame galleries looks like it's meant to be clicked on instead of dragged horizontally (ie. it looks like you've got three options, with a left / right arrow to move through the photos).

+ inconsistent navigation; the main menu is at the top of the page on some sections and runs along the side on others. again, most people will figure it out eventually but it's not the most usable approach

+ The grungy title font is kind of played

Your feedback is helpful, I will make sure Jay sees it and makes some notes for adjustments.

yes, my main beef is getting pictures with the same background.

Also, keep the site simple.

It would be super cool you guys had videos from interbike show where you describe the bikes.

This. Totally unintuitive. There are none of the usual hints that it's a scrollbar.

I asked for the scroll bars to be changed myself a while ago, and they will be in time. It is still a work in progress, with lots of new things to be added and refined.

I like the site but having to click three times to get a readable geo chart is kinda annoying.
