A few trails have been taped off and closed for the winter, including:
  • Lower Snake
  • Upper Cut
  • Gear Jammer

Still open:
  • North Road
  • Jim's Jungle
  • Dead Moped
  • and the fire roads

Not sure about Nicoles, Mels... Hang Your Hat... Gnome's...

Glad to see that Gear Jammer is closed, as it was starting to get muddy in late October.

Unfortunately gear jammer can be muddy anytime of the year, for whatever reason that area doesn't drain well.

I've just been informed Mel's and Nicoles are still open.

I gather when the BMBC built many of these older trails they were built as all weather trails -- I'm wondering if these are temporary closures due to the freeze and thaw? Last week everything was frozen solid, like riding on concrete, not likely to be a lot of trail erosion, but with the warming mixed with the hoarfrost...?

rode nicoles and mel's last saturday, noticed that gearjammer was closed, so unless there's been another round they're still good to go.

On the way to school this morning saw a maintenance crew up by Nicoles exit this morning - two trucks on Gaglardi with the wood pulper, so maybe closed for repairs and upgrades?

I just got a pm Dead Moped was closed today [Dec. 18] -- but there is no tape, and only one sign at the South end, so if your coming the other way... you wouldn't know.

Seems odd, I've been on a couple of trail days for Dead Moped, and it's pretty well armoured now for all weather riding. All these closures are going to put a lot of stress on the few remaining trails, especially with the mild weather people will still be riding.

Still wish we could put a loop trail west off pipeline up the grassy area, something to climb, and then lots of switch backs and/or pump track back down, armour it up for Fall/Winter rides... if the other trails are going to be closed regularly in the future.

Well fingers crossed this is only temporary.

Just got back from a lap up there. Upper Mels and nicoles open and actually in primo shape. Nice and tacky, think I only saw one puddle.

Definately muddy, but not overly so. Only a few puddles for the most part.

all seasonal closures have now been lifted.

that being said...some of the trails are not equipped to handle heavy rainfall and have been completely thrashed from riders over the winter. please respect gearjammer, uppercut and lower snake and do not ride them after heavy rain. thanks
