Has Anyone Ridden Over a Squirrel?

as in really, on a bike? I came crazy close today. The little bugger had his head poking through the slats on a down ramp & we were eye to eye as I started coming down. I'm glad he ducked down cuz swerving wasn't really an option.

Like there's not enough to pay attention to on a ride.

My buddy did in Stanley park

The little bugger ran right out in front of us, we were riding 3 abreast and he ran right in front of me and the dude next to me, and then ran out of luck and went right under my buddy's rear tire....

I was killing myself laughing cause, seeing the look on my buddy's face, when he ran over the poor little guy, he was soo shocked, cus he didn't even see it coming... and it was like he ran over a speed bump with only the rear tire. (I'm killing myself laughing as I type this out cus the squirrel ran away in the end)

I still call him "The Squirrel Killer"

it not so bad if they actually die on impact

but seeing the little guy trying to run away with only front legs working is harsh.

My friends and I have come pretty close to nailing a couple, even birds! I don't think we ever made any contact. Last year at Sun Peaks there was one just FLATTENED. Like a pancake. Everytime I told myself I would stop and flick it off the trail but I always forgot until i was rolling over/past it. I prepared for removal for sure the next time but it was gone. yayy.

Fuck squirrels, many many moons ago I almost T-boned a deer when you head back into the woods after the a-line rock drop. Come around the berm and there's a fucking deer just standing in the trail.

I've ran over a couple on my moto, and a bunny, and a grouse. Those animals are almost as dumb as cats.
