Looks great, some cool new products there. I like that Judan, might we see more belt drive in the future?

Couldn't agree more with your comment about the abundance of bike choices out there now. I just bought an end-of-season ds bike last weekend (my ride upto that point was an '03 Brodie Brute), my first new bike in 6 years, after approx. 1 year of decision making. Sure, some may argue I'm a bit of a 'hold-out' but the growing number of manufacturers, both frame and components, made it that much harder to decide.

The new LT is a really nice bike. I got to check it out. The changes made to it make it feel a lot more solid feeling than this years bike (which is already pretty solid), and the Hammerschmidt is really quite fantastic, although I still would like to see the equivalent of a third ring. The 6.1 weighs 33lbs I think, which is pretty respectable for the stock bike with a Joplin.

I'd really like to throw a leg over the LT 6.1. I love the LT2 I tested this year and think that the improvements over last years model will really make it shine even more.

How do you remove / replace the belt from Judan? Is that what the bolt on the drive-side seat stay is for?
I rode the LT 6.1 when Biggles saw it and was impressed by the spec and weight. I never used the Joplin that was on the demo -- the non-remote version is difficult to adjust when riding on anything but flat -- but I'd use one with the remote. The front end was uncomfortably high for me (stem / headset). Hammerschmidt was awesome, although I'm not sure I'd prefer it over a number of other component upgrades. The LT slides into a tough market too, not sure that I'd choose one over some of the other options out there. |

What's the advantage of a belt drive system over a chain?
I mean, it looks pretty cool, but what's the reasoning behind it. That white hipstermobile looks slick.

It's a good idea to drop the execrable Fox DHX Air off the Fluid LT

why would they - it had an interrupted seat tube, was heavier and not as pedal friendly... better to move to a more capable all mountain climber than another dh bike... good choice on Norco's part

The interrupted seat tube blows - the Fluid's design is exponentially better - and that's from a Six and fluid owner

Fair enough, but I think what Norco is trying to do is slim down their model lineup. There was beginning to be too much crossover between the bikes. The Fluid design is more current and better suited for the "AM" title. Leave the aggressive riding to the Shore models. I owned a 2004 Six, the first year they made them, and I agree they are a great bike.
