New fire burning on Blackcomb Mountain
Ten hectares in size, so far

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Another forest fire is burning on Blackcomb Mountain. Mike McCulley is with the B.C. Forest Service. "We've had a recent report of smoke called in so we have an initial report of a fire about ten hectares in size. It's burning about a kilometre up hill from the fire last week at the ridge and right now we're actioning that with some helicopters and we're expecting some air tankers to come in fairly soon."

McCulley says it’s burning in a steep area called the Ruby Bowl.
