Thanks for the info, I had a pair of Lakes about 3 pairs of bike shoes ago and had a similar experience. I was wondering if their quality had improved, apparently not.

Also I would ditch the high tops idea and wear ankle braces thus allowing you to run any low shoe you find that fits.

This has come up with a few people looking for high-top shoes for support. Kevin (kidwoo) is a friend down in Lake Tahoe that has mashed his ankles several times recommends braces.

Thought I'd include a pic of the shoe to this thread:

I've emailed the rep. to see if any LBS in the Van. area stocks them.

I've had really good luck with Northwaves. They last a long time - about as durable as the 5.10 shoes in my experience.

Apparantely there none in my size at either the BC distributor or the US distributor's warehouse.

I still haven't found a replacement for my Specialized shoes that are coming apart.

Anyone know why the ones that look like hiking boots fit so differently than the ones that look more like road shoes? Or am I on teh funny stuff.

I still need to find new high top shoes.

I was in John Henry last week and saw that they have limited sizes of the original Specialized Sawpits on sale for about $90Cdn.
