Question South Surrey Bike Park trail conditions?

Anyone ridden in there recently? Trail & stunt conditions?

Saw this article in the local paper. It would be a shame to loose this riding area due to lack of interest.

Dwindling membership in SORCE bike club is threatening the future of the South Surrey bike park.

ive been there quite a few time lately, the trails are in great condition, the junkyard dog xc trail is 5.62 k long if you follow it properly and is a good time, some of the trails with woodwork are getting old and a bit rotted and need to be replaced, i brought a couple of friends there the other day from nv and they couldnt believe how much fun it is there, they said we could spend all day here.

Barry always seems to be a bit glass half empty.

The trails are in good shape, we just did a trail day there a month ago. Some of the stunts need work. One of the teeter totters is still broken. Otherwise we ride there a couple times a week.

They say that every year to get people to join. The park has seen the most successful traidays this year since ths club started, thanks to thier new president. They have a very positive outlook now and people are responding.
Barry is a good guy but he has trouble being postive sometimes!

Membership is down, but there are lots of people coming out to the trail days. For you riders out in S. Surrey remember to sign up for the club. I have to pay my dues this week.

They are rebuilding the dirt jumps later today, at 8:45am(way to early), I'll be there.

This article had me confused... I was thinking: "what maintenance? the whole park has like 5 mud puddles total and it's all gently sloped and rocky."

but yes the DJs and "pump track" are in bad shape.

Dirt Jumps, well the very last set, are in now, much, much better shape. After the dirt jump trail day yesterday, they look a lot better. Much thanks to Jay Miron who came out and knew what to do, ha.

should take about 3 days of kids on 14" wheeled bikes rolling over the lips and things ought to be back to normal.

good to hear things got a freshening.

not the big gapper jumps. They left the rest, which honestly didn't need a lot of work, and ended up rebuilding the big #5 gappers. Nice work too.

I couldn't make the trail day, but I don't feel to guilty about it. Once every few weeks I'll bring in a hammer and nails, and repair the odd damage. Been doing that for a few years now. The article is pretty negative though. I rode the DJ's and stunts on friday night (with a hammer and nails in my camelback) and the stunts were in great shape. I spent maybe ten minutes fixing some rungs, and cutting down some overgrowth.

Regardless, I think a family membership is in order. I'd like to spend some time cleaning up the pump track so my kids can practice there.
