Vanier Park Dirt Jump Meeting This Thurs. May 14th

The proposed BMX/Mountain Bike facility in Vanier Park will be discussed at the next Planning and Environment Committee of the Vancouver Park Board. The Committee will hear from staff and from delegations from the public.

The meeting begins at 6:00 on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the Park Board office, 2099 Beach Avenue, Vancouver, BC. The item is 2nd on the agenda.

The meeting went quite well. The staff presented the findings from the public consultation and it was mostly positive. They have given the go ahead to dig further into things and hopefully the plan will be presented to the Park Board for a vote in a few months. At least, I think that what happens. More notes here:

I was there. I was impressed with the delegates' presentations and with the Boards considerations. Mostly impressed with the young at heart 59 year old kits resident mom who spoke in favour of the park!
