Marzocchi 55 ATA

Hi,
Can anyone give me advice on the 2009 55 ATA's.
I have been a content Mazocchi user for years, but recently tried the Fox 36 R Float fork (air)and find that two do not compare.
Regretably ...I miss my Fox forks.

My issue with my new 55 ATA is in regards to the "Sticktion" and the play in the forks. I can't seem to get that lovin feeling.

Would some service from Marz Canada rememdy my issue, or do I just go on being less than satisfied? Going from past history I would expect these forks to ride well right out of the box...

which year?

I just had a customer whose continually faulty 2008 55 TST2 was replaced with 2009 55 ATA, under warranty procedure, and got to say, they are feeling very sweet and plush

wow Marz will actually do that? Was it a final catastrophic failure or just continual issues? My '08 ATA2 has been in 4-5 times. No problems since the last fix but what a horrible feeling fork.. ugggghhh

Have been reading a bit about the 2010 Marz line, looking pretty sweet actually

My 55r just feels like shit...after having a bunch of stuff done to it..and then shipped off to Norco it still feels like shit..and now the rebound does not work. Good news is I was talking to my bike pimp and he got them to send out a new cartridge...it's waiting for me in the shop...I am keeping my fingers crossed...but at this point I would like my old orange judy's on my bike rather than this fork...lol.

I am in Vic so going in to see Naz is not really an option...200+ for the ferry and gas...then to have it worked on is even more...kinda silly IMO.

Bah, I am just a bit grumpy with this fork...lets hope the new cartridge works magic, other than the really shitty feel its a good stiff fork for what I do.

Marz is going through the same growing pains Rock Shox did when they switched to Taiwn. All the new China Bombers that I have come in contact with do not compair to the Red, White and Green Bombers of old.

This is a problem. The product is not very good, yet we still clamour for the same thing with a different production year attached to it.

This is not an attack on Marzocchi, but rather on the consumer who buys the product in the first place without doing research or doesn't raise their voice enough to receive full satisfaction.

2nd strike and I want my money back.

From what I've read (mostly on mtbr) it's not the same thing. I'm mostly interested in the fact they're using ti coils and hardware to acheive a coil fork weighing in at ~ 100g heavier than the ATA. Sounds like they're working on the QC too, but only time will tell. So ditch the air crap and hopefully go back to the old plush reliable coil Marz with ETA.

I know the ATA2 is a low end model and don't expect it to ride as nicely as the others. Naz took great care of me when I had the issues with it and now I'm just commenting on the forks' overall feel being crap.

Yeah, thats what I get for buying a first year product...I really should know better but I put a certain level of trust in a brand and I shouldn't have.

I am excited to see if next years products brings Marz back to where it was...they really need a solid product to win back a lot of the customers with a bad taste in their mouths.

Chris2 yeah I have the low end model as well so I am not expecting it be a super fork...but...damn it just feels like shit..tops out all the time and the rebound does not work...really...ugh...if I could afford to buy a new fork for the new bike I would...in a heartbeat...But for now I just gotta hope the new cartridge will make it feel better.

So are you guys saying it's a good thing I'm still riding an '04 Z150? Shouldn't upgrade until 2010?
