Motul says to use Offroad for Offroad and Road for Road. Duh.

So, should I avoid the "road" oil??? It's orange instead of red. I already have half a jug of gas with "offroad" red that I already filled up with gas and need to put in oil before using it.

Why the hell is this so complicated?
Not sure about the road version but I've been using the off-road version exclusively on the KTM with 60:1 mix.

Why the heck did you order it from gnarly? They're $21 from North Shore Yamaha/Suzuki.

No plates, just 3rd party liability. Something you must have if you ride any FSR's.
It's not that we don't want to do those kinda ride. It's ok for you guys on the dual sport because it is more of a destination ride since you'll likely ride from home.

Most of us haul our bike in the back of the truck and if I'm hauling my bike somewhere, I better riding some singletrack. On top of that, ripping FSR's gets old fast.

I wouldn't use an ester-based 2 stroke in your bike. The ester isn't good for your KIPS valves.

I'm sure there will be some dirt bikers there with their liability insurance. The insurance is cheap at $125. I have no interest in riding FSR's either. Thats not what we will be riding. There is lots of single track at Tamahi, or Church mtn as they call it. I was just saying if you are riding any FSR's between trails you need insurance therfore it is required for this ride.

great. the road is double ester. fml.

I tried 3 stores in richmond/burnaby for Motul 800 and gave up - ordered it online and had it in 2 days. I bought the first bottle in Oregon.

I dunno, mine's plated and I haul it everywhere. I hate being on that seat on the highway and it's SOOO nice getting in a vehicle after.

Sven, why are you buying that expensive stuff? Just head down to the local Cambodia Tire and buy some Amsoil Interceptor synthetic for $12. That's pretty much all I've run and you should see the inside of my cylinder.

the first taste of the motul 800 was cheap from Portland ($14?)... Now I want to keep the same oil and run into this shit.

I ran AMS from crappy tire before that. really, I notice no difference other than ones blue and the other's red and I don't want to mix oil types.

and in the spring, my c-tire only had motomaster. It wasn't till the summer that they stocked AMS, and I'm planning ahead for this winter for when they don't have teh AMS.

4 strokes are so nice...

I order my Motul 800 from Rocky mountain and pick it up in sumas. I think it was 50 bucks for a 4 liter jug.

Vedder was wicked yesterday, much drier than I expected.

I pay $60 a gallon for Torco GP7 synthetic from Gnarly parts. Delivered to my door. It mixes better than maxima oil.

I have heard good things about yamilube 2-stroke oil, if you want to run cheap oil.

I like the torco oil, but I would also recommend Opti-2 oil. I know you can pick that up at maple ridge kawasaki.

Vedder was more than wicked.....it was wicked awsome!

Bear was excellent this w/e, though a bit cold on the FSRs between trails. Put in about 110k (good mix of singletrack & quad trails & some unavoidable FSR) on Saturday and about 50k (mostly singletrack) on Sunday. We found some new stuff up near Lambly Lake. Super fun blue singletrack, took us all the way into the 4/3 trail intersection.

Likley one maybe two more weekends available there. The snow is coming soon. I decided to ride there from Princeton on Friday afternoon. 160k of freezing cold KVR/FSR. Ran into 4" of snow, and some nasty ice on the road just before the 97c. That was fun

BTW, the hunters were out in full force. During one rest stop on Sunday two separate trucks stopped on the neaby road and checked us out through the trees. The second time I yelled out "we're not bears". Figured we were in the sights, and the bullets were nearly enroute.

OK Trail Riders has put in a load of work on the trails since our last visit..There's a loong loop that joins up now..and there's evidence of several unmapped trails about to be opened and signed
The stuff from Lambly area was marked with a Kokanee "K" and eventually led to a "Hot Tub Time Machine" .. Anyone here rode that before?
