Readers' Rides #1 - Ken Perras' Demo 7

Stoked about this. Here's kperras' new build - a shockingly light Specialized Demo 7.

Here's how he got it down...

i liked that, looking forward to more of the same in the future. Its interesting to hear why people built their bikes how they did.

I enjoyed the piece, but as I'm not overly concerned about weight, many of the numbers didn't mean a whole lot to me.

I hope all the Reader's Rides bikes aren't going to be super light. Some variety will be nice, and maybe even some older bikes (06!) with good component replacement stories.

I'd like to see a variety of brands too.

I think this new column has some good potential.

Is the trail he is riding in the very last pic part of the Whistler Bike Park, or is outside the park? I don't remember that area in the WBP, but I may be mistaken.

wow you went from wanting a evo to wanting the 951 pretty quick. 951 likely won't be ready till july or possible aug so he doesn't have to much to worry about till then....

I looked at the geom for both and the 951 looks like its more shore friendly. But if the evo was ever shown in green it might be a toss up. I do like that kawasaki colour.

Undoubtedlty. Lesson learned. Always put extra padding your down tube.
