Fallen But Not Forgotten- Air Canada
http://www.forces.gc.ca/site/commun/...ng.asp?id=5129
Fallen but not forgotten The Maple Leaf 25 february 2009 by Gillian Crouse Download article (PDF) Send to a friend Related Photos The announcement Air Canada passengers all too frequently hear at the beginning of their domestic flights is solemn and respectful. It tells them their flight is also carrying a deceased member of the Forces home to his or her family. But the respect afforded fallen personnel begins long before passengers board. At Toronto Pearson International Airport, there are only two things that can bring an entire operating ramp to a halt: lightning, and a fallen member of the CF being carried home. The Air Canada Cargo team at Toronto Pearson has long had a respectful process in place for the carriage of the deceased. One day a few years back, however, Cargo team member Nick Wasielewitsch was told to expect a casket bearing a Canadian soldier who had recently been killed on tour. |

Its great to see AC is there for the armed forces.
But it would be nice if they were there for the rest of us too! |

Air Canada is a fking joke of a airline. Shitty people work for them. Westjet is one 100 times better. I fly west jet even when I could fly air canada for free

What makes you such an expert to develop such a well thought out argument why "Air Canada is a fking joke of a airline."? Eagerly awaiting your reply. Z

My dad works for Air Canada and I don't like him.
Which makes me biased. I used to fly from Toronto to Vancouver fairly often, and there was one time seats weren't open so I went with West Jet instead and I've never looked back. It's a completely different experience. The Westjet employees were happy and out going, seemed like they wanted to be at work, and liked there jobs. They wanted to make my flight as easy and as comfortable as possible. I cannot say the same for Air Canada. I distinctly remember when the person sitting next to me got a nose bleed, and "I said excuse me" to a flight attendant as she was passing by, and she turned around and said WHAT like I had just wrecked her day. I was just going to ask for napkins for the guy next to me... They've also lost my bags twice, once they returned them. It was a huge hassle and such a pain in the ass. Again they were just doing there jobs, didn't really seem to give a shit that I was being inconvienced. I could tell a few more stories If you'd like. But they just lack any means of customer service imo. There are better options then them. Maybe my first statement was too strong. My dad also used to tell me stories of games employees would play getting rouses out of passengers and just stupid stuff. In the past I've flown American Airlines and Southwest. |

this is just another reason to stick with AC
sleeper air canada is a much nicer airline then all of the us carriers and if you fly often then west jet offers shit all in terms of anything

while ive never been stunned by air canada's service, i can honestly say i've never been screwed over by them. they've lost bags before but usually as a result of a flight getting in late and not having any time for the connection.
their ticket agents at Charles de Gaulle were fucking atrocious though. |

Nonsense. United blows AC away in terms of customer service.

I'll deal with bad service if I can get a good deal. Just get me where I'm going.
Work is super slow for the next week, so I decided to fly to Ontario for a week. There were good prices, and I'm just happy to go visit my family. I have some credit with them due to a cancelled HKG-YVR flight, and I was able to put that toward this trip. I'm pretty happy with AC. Their phone people I talked to today were really helpful too. No complaints here.

wait, there are people out there who think air canada is better , service wise, than westjet
![]() the whole culture of air canada is sickening. crippled by greedy unions and greedy execs, they are screwed. bill good did a bit on AC vs. westjet the other day and it was just a complete dump on AC. i hope the government pumps money into westjet instead of AC next time AC asks for a bailout |

So Mr Smart guy how much do you think the mechanic fixing the aircaft you are flying in someplace over the pacific at 30K feet is geting paid? I know I used to work there and trust me for the amount of schooling/resposibilty the $ and job security just isnt there. Think that the plane you will be flying on will soon be repaired in a third world country by air canada's MRO company Avios. Everyone thinks everyone at AC is getting thick $ really needs to wake up. As far as government $ bailouts go, I really dont know what the numbers are/were, maybe gerewh0re can spout off how much government funding Air Canada has had in bailouts? I am sure it is a drop in the bucket compared to bailing out the auto industry crap! Sleeper sorry to hear they lost your bags twice, I am sure westjet has never lost anyones luggage yet
