As to the OT... you may not like hearing it but I suggest you hold on to the civic. You bought it already and you knew what you were getting... with gas prices going up and up you'll be thrilled with the car in a year

. But if the itch to change the car to a fun, crazy looking vehicle, is super strong then go for it. Read the article Tim posted, I swear by it too. It will save you a ton of money and keep in mind that trade in never gets you the best deal.

When we were changing our '98 civic in '04 we were given trade in amount of $8,450 as a max. I paid $250 for a proper cleaning service at a shop that made the car look stunningly new and sold it privately for $12,300... it took 3 weeks to find a buyer at the right price, but you do the math and tell me if it was worth the wait
