'Cheap' Whistler accommodation for a night or two?

Myself and a friend are possibly going to Whistler on Thursday evening and am looking for somewhere pretty cheap to stay (was even thinking about just kipping in the back of the van...). Despite spending all summer there, I don't know what accommodation is like other than the chances of getting financially ass raped are pretty high. Can anyone recommend any cheap B&B type places, or maybe even a hostel if there is likely to be space? Would be Thursday night and possibly Friday night.

Call Fireside Lodge 604-932-4545..$30pp for a dorm bed (2 bunks per dorm) or $90 for a private room. Stayed there over Xmas and it was a blast!

Or the UBC Lodge.. $38pp for the dorm or $100 for a room.

Also there is Art's Lodge <sp?> if you are really hardcore..read reviews here: http://www.hostelz.com/hostel/12074-BCIT-Lodge-(Art's-Hostel)
