Interbike 2007 - Day 2

Day two at the Convention Center proved to be just as busy as day one. I managed to hit up crankbrothers, adidas, Norco, SRAM / RockShox, Santa Cruz, Straitline and Light & Motion during my travels. Check out the latest gear at the show.

Stuart -

Do the mallets have the same issue with the screws going all the way through the face as the 5050s? Did you notice if they are releasing both versions of the mallet again or are they ditching the magnesium (I heard a rumor they were)?

I'm impressed that they got 2 pounds off the V-10.

Other than that, I kinda wish SRAM would man up a little more with the Totem issues. They keep down playing the problems rather than doing the responsible thing and ordering a recall. As a Totem owner without problems, I still feel their reputation has been tarnished.

I really appreciate you guys asking them directly about it. These are questions they should be answering more often.

"...conditions on the shore and whistler..."
It's funny, I saw as many totems at whistler being tested as most forks on the shore. Surely all of the people out there testing would experience the same difficulties...
I just hope rockshox can get back on their game, if they have huge reliability issues again this year, they will be in serious shit, manitou circa 2005 kinda shit.

which they say is fairly limited in scope and seems to have something to do with the conditions on the Shore and Whistler

seems we have the same conditions here in England, and France too...he he

Okay enough shots of the booth babes....

How about a pic of a booth boy? there has to be one....somewhere....in a short pair of cycle shorts that are strategically too tight. Thanks.

Sean - No backing on the screw holes on the Mallets. Not positive about the mags, but based on colour and weight from last year and these pedals, I'd say yes they will be available.

I suspect they didn't feel the problem was a) a safety issue, b) widespread enough based on the number of forks sold to warrant a recall, and c) they didn't want every Totem sold coming back, which is what would have happened in a recall.

Yup, that'll be coming in the next few days. We've got another week's worth of updates from Vegas.

What I was told was that it had something to do with the soil composition in this area penetrating the seals. Similar soil composition, similar problems. Apparently, they didn't have any notable problems in Cali or Colorado.

I'm just the messenger.
