I think that was my fault. The shot he sent me was 500 pixels wide and I thought I could bump it to 550 without compromising it. It turns out that wasn't the case.

I think it looks pretty sharp now.

Photoshop nerd tip # 43256a

You can bump up an image size incrementally 5% at a time up to 20% from the original size without losing much quality. You can also do this with pixel art by setting the pixel reference to nearest neighbor.
