shock rebuilds

I just got a shock serviced from Kyle at The Broken Bike and the service was outstanding.

$85 for full service on my Manitou 6 Way. I dropped it off at 9:00 Thursday night and it was ready by 12:00 the next day. I have not used it yet but if there are any problems with its performance I will post up.

Thanks Kyle.

Graham

Sounds good. I've had good luck with local shock rebuilds. My DHX sounds like it needs one and I'd rather pay the 85 to a local than 140 at OGC via shops.

Awesome Spaz. I've heard about that place but was waiting for some feedback before I sent off my shock. I've got a 5th that really needs some lovin and never did feel right to me. Let us know how it all worked out.

Doesn't look like I will get on my big bike this weekend (trail day came first). Hopefully a night ride this week. I will post up as soon as I have some more info.

so word on the inside is there's a new suspension tuning company opening up on the world famous north shore. at the moment details are limited to only a few privilege ears but the official website is launching soon. from what i understand it's something along the lines of garageworx or TF tuned shox. keep your eye's and ears open ppl.

Funny website.

I like the fact that they'll do various kinds of shocks. The prices are very reasonable; I'll be giving them a try.

I posted up something similar a while back too.

http://bb.nsmb.com/showthread.php?p=1731189#post1731189

after doing a fair bit of riding with the spv removed/turned off, I am very happy with it. The shock is much more active now which makes the rear suspension feel a lot smoother. Before I saw this I was thinking of buying a DHX, but now the swinger is running great. Unless you really like sprinting on dirt roads I'd recommend this to anyone with a manitou or progressive shock. Kyle is the guy to do it too. As Spaz said, its a good price and really fast. I dropped it off to him at 5pm on a sunday and had it back by 10pm THAT DAY; considering how people are complaining about the slowness of trident, I think this is pretty sweet. He also does a good job on the rebuild, putting high quality seals in there. Your shock will probably squeak like mad at first, but after about 5 runs at whistler my seals were broken in.

I'm tempted. I bought a 3way air for my 06 Six as a backup shock and I've never really used it since it feels like crap. It's either way too stiff or it bottoms out and I don't know how much of that is because of the SPV. Since it's not my main shock, I'm even tempted to have a go at it myself. Does anyone know if there are any documents on rebuilding/modifying these shocks?

looks pretty good .There is a better way to blead the system and if you head to a moto shop you can buy the shims necc instead of finding a metel donor shock .
