NSMB Campers
So what is the likelyhood of getting a first come first served camp spot at Manning Park or Pemberton for the August Long Weekend if we leave Vancouver at 1pm on the Friday.

My thought is maybe if we are lucky...

I don't think there are any in the lightning lakes campsite but maybe the private ones?

You have to book in April to get in for August there and once you've paid they won't let anyone camp in your spot even if you leave early. I have seen plenty of "vacant" sites there from no-shows or people leaving before the weekend is over.

Come to the Island. Most popular back country spot on the Island is Bedwell Trail - went up there last Labour Day weekend - most busy weekend of the year - there were empty tent pads everywhere...

Maybe Hampton campsite: Take a backpack and hike in to strike lake or buckhorn creek campsite.
