Where to buy HID key fobs in Van

I took a spill riding and tore out the key ring hole on the fob for my apartment building. A quick search online has shown that the Fob is an $8 part, yet my building charges $100 for replacements. My caretaker has kindly agreed to activate a fob of I source it myself, so I'm working on finding one (it's an HID Proxkey II).

I figured someone here must know about this stuff. Is there a good local source for these supplies? Also, how can I make sure that the one I get is compatible with the building's system?

Buy 25 and sell them to your neighboors at $50 a pop = profit.

Or just sell 24 to the building manager at $25 per, so you only have to do one transaction. Your $/per hour profit goes extreem to the max.

Unlikely any of the commercial suppliers will sell them individually. Maybe try and find an installer, they would be more likely to be agreeable to selling an individual fob. If you can find out who did the install/services the system in your building they may be able to help you.

Building owner likely bumps up replacement cost to discourage people from being careless with them, as lost/unreported fobs are a security risk.

your building likely pays sweet f.a. for them - the charge is intended as a deterrent so you hang on to the key as rogue keys are a security issue.
