Its difficult to find anything that is a better drivetrain alternative at the moment. Would you say there is a better concept in existence right now?

First, adding "The" to my username brings it to a whole other level. Exalted!

Second, do you predict that they will scale back the travel on said Enduro 29er to 140mm to run the Fox 34 or are there other suitable 34mm+ stanchion forks with 150mm travel coming? There have been rumours of a 29er Lyrik forever...

155mm rumored. The Stumpy Evo 29 is already running 135mm, so 140mm would not be enough of a difference. I believe there will be a suitable forks to mate to the frame.
