I went from my Banshee Scythe to my Transition TR450 and I found that although I wasn't riding anything at Whistler that I wouldn't have been before, without any change on my skill level, I am just riding everything a notch faster. The rock faces and steep techy descents are still challenging but feel much more manageable. In short, a pro would probably not notice as big of a difference as an intermediate rider like myself, but for me the change was a huge confidence booster and one that I'm glad I made.

Hope that helps,
Mark
