Im dumb help me get my cranks off

Hey

I just bought a new pair of X drives for my kona. Anyway i need help getting off my crank arms and bb. Do i really need a crank puller for it?

The X drives are bmx style but not the tru Vativ ones im taking off. They're Isis.

Go buy a crank puller, there not to expensive as I can remember.

or use one at your lbs.

the only alternative to this is beating your crank arms off with a 2x4 and a hammer, and I dont think you want to do that.

You need an Isis crank puller to get them off, or if you can find just the right sized washer, a washer and a regular crank puller. Any way other than that and you risk wrecking them. If you don't have/don't want to buy the tool, go to your lbs and have them do it. It's not worth ruining your cranks.

well, you put it on, then turn it..................

The non-smartass response is the same as above, but remember that the drive side has reverse threads (righty loosey instead of lefty loosey).
