New DB North Van Store Coming Soon

If you've been by our Parkgate or Burnaby locations lately, you may have noticed the "we're moving" banners. Or if you've been waiting for the lights at Mountain and Main you may have seen the ff logo on a building down there. What could it all mean?

In December, we're bringing together our existing smaller stores at Parkgate and Burnaby into one larger, central location in North Van - 1445 Main Street, between Harbour and Mountain Hwy. Renovations are underway now, stay tuned for exact opening date for the new location.

More information and FAQ's can be found over here on our web site

Wow ... that little corridor on Main in NVan is going to house quite the collection of bike shops.

Closing the two existing stores doesn't make much sense to me. DB Burnaby is a great location to stop in when on the way home along Barnet, and services Burnaby mountain and SFU, and Parkgate seems to make a lot of sense being at the base of Seymour.

One could argue that bike business overall could strengthen in that corridor since it will become a destination for bike shoppers. The move doesn't seem that unreasonable.

win for customers if the selection isn't overlapping. If each store is specializing in a few brands, it would be a great one stop, try everything on my list, buy something awesome type of experience.

Parking in that corridor sucks. Sorry to see DB leave parkgate, that was a great location.

Someone should burn the BBY location to the ground so no-one else tries to open a store in the future. Economic reports may show a moderately affluent area, but it's just full of people who drive big SUVs who moan about having to pay 30 bucks on their kids CCM or Supercycle. It's a shit area for a bike shop.

Woah. Strong opinions. There are other stores in the area, but it's a convenient location for a few people I know.
I understand the move to Main St, but I don't understand the closing of the other stores, certainly not parkgate.
It's also more proof that people in this city seem to believe that the North Shore is the only place where there are trails.

With the announcement of John Henry bikes being bought out by Norco, DB will likely not be carrying Norco at their new location on Main St. Pretty sure they carried Norco at both Parkgate and Bby stores. Just e-speculation on my part.

NO WAY I'M SETTING FOOT INSIDE THAT STORE.....

Unless they get a big sign that say "Massive'r Savings". if they do that Cove is F**ked.

and on the JH side that is crazy I never much liked that shop. They sold me 24 inch tubes when I asked for tubes once, didn't figure that out until I had a trail side flat.

Do you know how embarrassing it is trying to stretch a 24 onto a 26 rim. Anyway

I hope it's a good boost for the brand, I really like Norco's new line of bikes and I own one.

99.9% of the people in the area just drag their bike out of the garage once a year. Get it tuned up (i.e. get the plants growing on the bikes wiped off and maybe the cat piss cleaned up....any more and they'll moan about the cost....) and then stick the bike on the back of the SUV so they can ride around Osoyoos for a week in August.

Anyway, best of luck to Jordie! He's a great guy and hopefully he's going to the new store.

I guess I'm the .1%, as I bought my mojo there and also live a few blocks away ;-). I heard Jordie is going to the new store. He's a great guy! I'm wondering if that whole block will be re-developed soon...
